The Blessed Sacrament Catholic Community Music and Liturgy department exists to create impactful experiences of liturgy and worship, always focused on the goal of inviting all to encounter the true presence of Christ! Although the primary focus of the department is the most essential one – the Mass, other opportunities for worship are presented to the community throughout each Liturgical year. Programs like the Living Last Supper and the annual Christmas Concert provide opportunities for our Catholic community – and our broader Central Florida community of all faith traditions – to deepen spiritual engagement. Music conveys emotions and experiences that words alone may not fully capture and can express deep feelings of joy, sorrow, reverence, and awe – all of which help the artists and attendees connect with the divine. To continue offering such programs to the community free of charge, thus making them accessible to all who wish to attend, we are starting a fund to provide short and long-term support for our Music and Liturgy outreach efforts. We will be holding paid ticketed events and seeking sponsorships and donations. All proceeds from these events will be held in two different accounts, one a savings account from which monies can be accessed as needed – and one a reserve fund that will be invested to ensure necessary support for our programming for many years to come. Music is deeply rooted in our Church’s history and has been integral to Catholic worship for centuries. This musical heritage helps harmonize the richness of our traditions with our joyful hope for the future of our Church as we invite current members and new generations to join with us in praise!
