Our History

Throughout our 75-year history, the people of Blessed Sacrament have responded with faith and joy to the challenges of rapid growth, recognizing new opportunities to build up the Body of Christ in Central Florida.

Our story began in 1910, when the first Blessed Sacrament mission church was established on Lake Avenue in Clermont. In 1961, our faith community was designated as a separate parish, and our first church building — no known as St. John Bosco Hall — was constructed on 12th Street.

By 1969, the number of registered families had grown to 300, and a new parish hall and education building were constructed to meet the needs of the flourishing community.

We have much to celebrate as a parish family. Our beautiful church, dedicated by Bishop Norbert Dorsey in 2002, is the heart of our faith community and the center of our sacramental life. We continue to experience tremendous growth, with more than 3,000 people attending Mass every weekend. Our faith formation programs and our parish ministries are thriving. We are blessed to be a diverse community of believers, unified and centered in Christ and committed to serving God’s creation and those most in need.
