Dear Parishioners,

As we begin our annual observance of Holy Week, we might be “tempted” to simply allow this to become just another ordinary week in our lives. When one ponders the words and actions of the Lord Jesus upon the Cross taken from the Passion of Saint Luke, we might think otherwise:

Now, one of the criminals hanging there reviled Jesus, saying, “Are you the Christ? Save yourself and us!”

The other, however, rebuking him, said in reply, “Have you no fear of God, for you are subject to the same condemnation? And indeed, we have been condemned justly, for the sentence corresponds to our crimes, but this man has done nothing criminal.” Then he said. “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”

Jesus replied to him, “Amen, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”

The primary Liturgies of this Holy Week are:
Holy Thursday 7:00pm Mass of the Lord’s Supper
Good Friday Noon Stations of the Cross
3:00pm Celebration of the Lord’s Passion
Holy Saturday 8:30pm Easter Vigil in the Holy Night
Easter Sunday 6:00am, 8:00am, 10:00am, Noon and 2:00pm (Spanish)

I commend to your prayer and affection Stephanie Gonzalez, Clint Moseley, and Brandon Scott who will be Baptized, Confirmed and admitted to Holy Communion at the Easter Vigil on Saturday night. May the Lord continue to watch over them and guide them! And so we pray:

O God of eternal glory, you anointed your Son Jesus to bear our sins, to encourage the weary, and to raise up and restore the fallen. Keep before our eyes the splendor of the Paschal Mystery of Christ, and by our sharing in the passion and resurrection, seal our lives with the victorious sign of his obedience and exaltation.
Please join us this week for the beautiful celebration of the Liturgies of Holy Week.

Father Bob
