Celebrate the Great Jubilee Year of Mercy with Fr. John Hurley, CSP.
We welcome Paulist Father John Hurley to our parish this weekend as he begins our Lenten Parish Mission.
Fr. Hurley will deliver the homily at all of our weekend Masses. Our mission continues Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday beginning with daily Mass at 8:30 a.m., and a mission talk following Mass. Fr. Hurley will also deliver a mission talk at 7 p.m. on all three days.
Paulist Father John Hurley was ordained a priest in 1977. He is a leader in evangelization for over 35 years founding the Paulist Center for Catholic Evangelization in Portland, OR in 1979. In 1997, his leadership went national serving as Executive Director for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Secretariat for Evangelization where he was responsible for implementing Go and Make Disciples, A National Plan and Strategy for Catholic Evangelization in the United States. He later served as Executive Director for the National Pastoral Life Center in New York City and the Department of Evangelization for the Archdiocese of Baltimore. He has spoken in over 100 dioceses across the United States and continues to do so before parish, diocesan and national Church leadership. Since 2014, he serves as a consultant for NewEvangelizationStrategies.org and resides at Old Saint Mary’s Cathedral in San Francisco where he once served as pastor. Pope Francis appointed Fr. Hurley a Missionary of Mercy for the Great Jubilee Year of Mercy.
