On July 11, the Feast of St. Benedict, there will be a celebration at 10 a.m. at St. Leo Abbey. At this celebration, those who have been taking part in a novitiate year (a year of discernment) will make “First Vows” as they begin a new life in the Benedictine Monastic Community. Among this novitiate class is a fine young man from our parish community who we have known (until now) as J.J. Rodriguez. His religious name is Brother Apollo, honoring the fourth century Egyptian monk who founded a monastery and whose feast day is celebrated November 4 (in the East). The parish will provide a bus for a pilgrimage to Saint Leo on this day to celebrate with Brother Apollo this great day in his life. We are so very happy for Brother Apollo and pray that God’s choicest blessings be upon him!

Join us as we travel together to celebrate with a member of our parish community as he makes “First Vows.”
